Deflector instal the new for ios3/5/2024 ![]() ![]() Instead of the rain being pushed up the channels and forming those little ponds halfway up the hood, the vortex pulls the rain forward down the hood to the front. Because it causes the wind to deflect, the wind creates a little horizontal vortex. It doesn't really deflect the rain, but it does do a neat little trick at about 45mph. ![]() There's a bit of art to this install, and a LOT of measuring, re-measuring, and re-re-measuring some more. Instead of using a felt pen on my hood, I just used electric tape for markers and took them off when i was done. Gotta follow the directions VERY precisely. And since the deflector ends up in a slightly flexed position, you can't just put the deflector down on the hood, trace positions, and go from there. Once those sticky pads touch the hood, they're on permanently. The real challenge was getting the measurements absolutely correct. The install wasn't technically difficult. The reason for the install was because I was getting annoyed with the two little lakes of water forming in the channels near the middle of the hood while driving in the rain. Man, that was a challenging install! I can take pictures for any interested in doing the same. I bought and installed the OEM Wind/Air Deflector for my 2011 Pilot EX-L. ![]()
